This page is a tour of our Trout in the Classroom aquarium where we raised our Brook Trout. Filter: Our school got a grant from trout unlimited to get all of our stuff like the fish tank and the fillter. including the fish.
Chiller: The chiller is important it makes the water suitable for the fish to live in. it keeps the water a cold temperature that they are use to.
Powerhead & Hydrosponge: Powerhead A powerhead is a device that distributes the cool water around and it helps by having a nylon stocking end on it so the fishies don’t get sucked in. Hydrosponge A filter that provides both mechanical and biological filtration for aquariums. Thermometers: Thermometer A device that measures temperature . this helps the fish by letting you see if the water is to hot or cold
Breeder Basket:
Air pump & Air stone: Air Stone Aquarium air stone is a lightweight stone, which is full of little holes intended for displacing air into the water. Generally, fish living at the top, middle or lowest levels are able to swim to the surface, but “pure” bottom dwellers aren’t able to stay at the surface all day long. They have to swim up and down and it is unnatural for them. Air Pump An air pump is a device used to move air, possibly under pressure. If you have a filter that is run by an air pump, then the air pump is necessary, as without it the filter will not operate and you are not going to be gaining benefit from having that filter on your tank.
Gravel: Small stones used to make concrete or terrain. And it is also there just to make the tank look good. Also it is there for show.
Insulation:
A material or substance used to trap heat so that the water can stay at the ideal temperature for the trout. It is also used to keep light out so that the eggs are not disturbed.
